There are 10 computer labs at WSB-NLU.
Currently labs are equipped with 285 desktop computers available for use by students, faculty, and staff. CD ROM drives are installed on many of the PCs, some also have sound systems with headphones, scanner and b/w laser printers.
Open access computer labs in C007 and C130 are open to all WSB-NLU students, faculty, and staff. During academic year labs are open 8am - 10pm (Mon-Fri) and 8am - 8pm (Sat & Sun). A current
listing of the hours of operation all computer labs can be found at the URL listed at the beginning of this section. Students can use their laptops and connect them to the network.
All facilities are free, except printing. Documents can be printed on high-quality laser printer. It is available for a fee (currently 0.20 zloty per page) to cover consumables (paper, toner cartridges, and maintenance of the printers).
A full complement of high-quality commercial software (as well as many popular free and shareware products) is available on every computer in the labs. Commercial software offerings include word processors, database and spreadsheet applications, mathematics and statistics applications, illustration and desktop publishing software, and much more.
All PCs are set up with a standard interface that allows students and staff to use machines and easily find the programs and files they need. Also, all computers at WSB-NLU are connected to the campus network (and the Internet) and can be used for reading news and e-mail, browsing the World Wide Web, downloading files, and accessing networked instructional courseware.
Public lab is staffed by a student consultant during all hours of operation.
Consultants help users with the basic functions of the applications available at the sites, provide assistance using the machines and printers, and keep the sites clean during hours of operation.
